Psychotherapy

When you choose a mental health professional, it is important to know that they are sincere, genuine, nonjudgmental, and committed to walking along side you in your journey to a healthier well being. While the tools a therapist uses are extremely important, more important is understanding the purpose of the tools to be used. Methods that take a person struggling with a lack of acceptance and belonging who constantly seeks affirmation (Human Doing) to a person who begins to learn their value and preciousness as a person and becomes content with their identity and progresses to a (Human Being). Without the vital elements of trust, strong rapport, sincerity, and unconditional positive regard, I as a therapist cannot utilize the tools and experience to be effective. It is my sincere belief that more than anything, people just want to know that they matter and are sincerely cared for. Once this relationship is established we can complete that seemingly daunting journey to a more fulfilling and satisfying quality of life.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma Therapy

It hard to believe that unhealthy people, devastating life circumstances, and other terrors that can happen in life could affect our mind and psyche so adversely. Much of which happens is beyond our control and we don't know how to make our way back from the images, thoughts, feelings, and body sensations of those events. It is with great sensitivity and understanding that we offer various methods of trauma therapy to guide our clients back from the seemingly unending, pervasive and maladaptive processing of these difficult times.

Addictions Therapy

Addiction is a survival response that activated when we could not handle abuse, trauma, or other life challenges that were too much for our minds and hearts to handle. It was the only way that we knew how to manage. Maybe our parents were not as healthy as they could have been. It could be that we got with the wrong crowd and did not realize how much of ourselves we gave to unhealthy relationships. Longing for the unconditional love and acceptance that never seemed to reach us, we desperately sought it from others. Many carry shame because they lacked the necessary, healthy coping skills to manage these difficult times. We are here to assist those in finding their way from the depths of the darkest times of our lives and provide a safe and effective way to learn how amazing a person you really are. Individual Therapy

Individual and Group Therapy

Individual therapy is an opportunity to engage with a therapist with whom you can feel comfortable, safe, and most all trust. It is a place where all the secret or dark things in your life that you wish to share and get relief. Individual therapy is recommended when the challenges of life are really intense and it is hard to trust and/or engage others. It is during individual therapy that you can learn methods of how to better mange pervasive emotions, thoughts, and body sensations that are a residual from traumatic life events.

Group therapy is utilized to assist clients in engaging with others that share similar challenges mentally and emotionally. It is a great way to learn to trust others and learn from one another's life experiences.

A newer form of treatment that works along side other forms of therapy is called Neurofeedback. Neurofeedback is defined as "the technique of making brain activity perceptible to the senses in order to consciously alter such activity. This is done by recording brain waves with an electroencephalogram (EEG) and presenting them visually or audibly." This treatment for assists in helping the maladaptive ways your brain processes anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and various other disorders.  It naturally trains your brain to "calm and/or arouse" itself to a more healthy way of functioning. This enhances the therapeutic process by assisting the client in being able to focus and engage without the "noise of maladaptive thoughts, images and body sensations" that won't let use function correctly.
